Traduttori, traditori (translators, traitors) goes the famous Italian expression which points to the difficulty of translating a book into another language without “betraying” its author. In this conversation a writer and his German translator talk about their experience of the dialogue established between the two, as well as the challenges of undertaking this work, which is frequently relegated to the background.
Participants: Antonio Colinas, poet, essayist and novelist; Petra Strien-Bourmer, translator and publisher.
