Antonio Ortega

Literary critic and librarian

Antonio Ortega (Madrid, 1962) holds a degree in Philosophy and Letters (majoring in Hispanic Philology) from Autonomous University of Madrid. He is a librarian at the UNED (National Distance Learning University) Central Library.

He was deputy director of Escuela de Letras de Madrid and is a teacher at Función Lenguaje and Hotel Kafka. He lso is a literary critic for the Babelia, supplement for the daily newspaper El País, and for a number of other publications.

He edited the poetry anthology La prueba del nueve (Cátedra, 1995) and is author of the book of poems Arenario (KRK, 1998). He has collaborated on a number of collective works on authors such as Antonio Gamoneda, José Hierro, Luis Feria, José-Miguel Ullán, Olvido García Valdés, Ildefonso Rodríguez and Clara Janés.
