Isaac Rosa (Sevilla, 1974) is a journalist, novelist and playwright.
He is author of the novels La malamemoria (Del Oeste, 1999); El vano ayer (2004), which won the Ojo Crítico Fiction Prize and the 14th Rómulo Gallegos Prize; ¡Otra maldita novela sobre la Guerra Civil! (2007); El país del miedo (2008) (The Land of Fear), José Manuel Lara Foundation Prize; La mano invisible (2011); La habitación oscura (2013), Feliz Final (2018); and Lugar seguro (2022), Biblioteca Breve Prize. They were all published by Seix Barral and have been translated into a number of languages. Three have been made into films.
He has written the text of two comic books published by Nube de Tinta: Aquí vivió (2016) and Tu futuro empieza aquí (2017); a number of books of short stories, such as Tiza roja (Seix Barral, 2020); and the young people’s novel W (Edebé, 2019), together with his daughter Olivia.
He has also written the plays Adiós muchachos (casi un tango) (Caja España, 1998) and is co-author of Kosovo. La coartada humanitaria (Ediciones Vosa, 2001).
He is a regular contributor to the media such as the radio Cadena Ser and the monthly magazine La Marea. He has been a columnist for the daily Público and the satirical magazine El Jueves.
