Javier Serena

Head of the Area of Humanities of AECID

Javier Serena (Pamplona, 1982) works as Head of the Area of Humanities and is director of the magazine Cuadernos Hispanoamericanos at the Directorate for Cultural and Scientific Relations of the Spanish International Development Cooperation Agency (AECID).

He has received scholarships from the Antonio Gala Foundation, the Valparaíso Foundation, the Axóuxere Foundation and The Récollets centre.

He is author of the novels La estación baldía (Gadir, 2012), Atila. Un escritor indescifrable (Tropo, 2014) and Últimas palabras en la Tierra (Gadir, 2017). His last two books are being translated into English in the United States.
