Jürgen Jakob Becker (Germany, 1964) studied German and Latin American Studies. He is the managing director of the Deutscher Übersetzerfonds (DÜF) and deputy director of the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin (LCB) and is particularly responsible for support and event programmes for literary translators.
Among other activities, he directs the Summer Academy and the International Translators’ Meetings at the LCB and is one of the co-founders of the TOLEDO programme under the umbrella of the German Translators’ Fund.
He is co-editor, among other works, of Zaitenklänge. Geschichten aus der Geschichte der Übersetzung (Matthes & Seitz Berlin, 2018).
