Kiko Amat

Kiko Amat (Sant Boi de Llobregat, 1971) dropped out of school at 17 to be a mod, kleptomaniac, record seller, kiosk worker, cashier at McDonald’s, conveyor belt worker at Seat, security guard at a camping site, junk mail distributor and waiter at a large hotel in London, where he lived for five years. 

He has published the novels El día que me vaya no se lo diré a nadie (2003), Cosas que hacen BUM (2007), Rompepistas (2009), Eres el mejor, Cienfuegos (2012), Antes del huracán (2018) and Revancha (2021), all of them in Anagrama. 

He is also author of three non-fiction books, Mil violines (2011), Chap chap (2015) and Los enemigos; cómo sobrevivir al odio y aprovechar la enemistad (2022). Currently he co-writes and co-directs the podcastPop y Muerte on Radio Primavera Sound, directs the Subsol festival in the Centro de Cultura Contemporánea de Barcelona and is a cultural programmer for the Finestres bookshop in Barcelona.
