Lucía Asué Mbomío (Alcorcon, 1981) has been a journalist and TV reporter since 2005. She has worked in Madrid Directo (Telemadrid), El Método Gonzo (Antena 3), Españoles en el Mundo or Aquí la Tierra (TVE1), the programme on which she now works. She has also directed and written documentaries for the Movistar TV series En tierra de los nadie. Her work has taken her to some forty countries.
She has collaborated with El País writing the column “Barrionalismos” and also writes and produces video reports for Píkara Magazine, Ctxt, Afroféminas, Negrxs and Mundo Negro. In 2017 she published her first book, Las que se atrevieron (Sial/Pigmalión), followed in 2019 by her second work, Hija del camino (Grijalbo).
In 2020, she was awarded the communication prize of the Asociación Pro Derechos Humanos de España. In 2017, she was chosen by the blog África no es un país, of the newspaper El País, as one of the most outstanding African women of the year and in 2013, as one of the 30 most relevant African-European women according to the Thompson Reuters list (Lloyds Banking Group).
