Puy Oria (Torres del Río, Navarre, 1962) is a graduate in Philosophy and Educational Science from University of Navarra.
She began in cinema as production assistant with Elías Querejeta on the film Las Cartas de Alou in 1989.
In 1999 she set up with Montxo Armendáriz the production company Oria Films, with which she produced works such as Silencio roto, Obaba and No tengas miedo.
Over the last ten years she has given courses, talks and audiovisual production workshops. For the last three years she has managed the Master’s degree in Production and given Executive Production classes in Escuela TAI.
She has been nominated for a Goya Award as Best Production Director for Obaba. She has also received the Pau i Justicia Award at Humans Fest for her professional cinematic career dedicated to the defence of human rights.
She is member of the Spanish Film Academy and President of PIAF since 2018, and was president of AMA from 2007 and 2018 . She also belongs to the Cultural Council of Navarre, the Cultural Council of the Autonomous Region of Madrid and the Advisory Committee of AC/E.
