Raquel Lanseros

Poet and translator

Raquel Lanseros (Jerez de la Frontera, España, 1973) is a poet and a translator. She has a doctorate in Education in Language and Literature, a Master’s degree in Social Communication and is a graduate in English Studies. She is a participant in poetry workshops, courses, festivals and literary meetings, as well as contributing to international literary and cultural magazines. 

Her books include Leyendas del promontorio (Ayuntamiento de Villanueva de la Cañada, 2005), Diario de un destello (Rialp, 2006), Los ojos de la niebla (Visor Libros, 2008), Croniria (Hiperión, 2009), Las pequeñas espinas son pequeñas (Hiperión, 2013) and Matria (Visor Libros, 2018). Her latest published work is Ellas vuelan: homenaje a las poetas pioneras del siglo XX en español (Creotz, 2021). Her collected poetry has been published as Esta momentánea eternidad (Visor Libros, 2016).

Among her translations are her rhymed version of Edgar Allen Poe’s love poems Poemas de amor (Valparaíso, 2013); a selection of Lewis Carroll’s poems Poemas and Los ojos de Elsa (Visor, 2015), by Louis Aragon.

She has received numerous awards, such as the Critics’ Prize in 2018, the Andalusian Critics’ Prize in 2018 and the Unicaja Poetry Prize, as well as being runner-up for the Adonáis Prize.
