Silvia Nanclares

Writer and editor

Silvia Nanclares (Madrid, 1975) is a writer, cultural activist and publisher. She graduated in Playwrighting from the Real Escuela de Arte Dramático, has promoted a number of theatrical, audiovisual, literary and artistic training projects.

She has formed part of the Procomún Laboratory of the Medialab Prado project and has been the founder of the collective projects Helvéticas and Escuela de Escritoras. She is a contributor to media such as Periódico Diagonal and elDiario.es, and gives classes in creative writing workshops.

She helped launch #bookcamping, an open digital editorial research tool which aimed to draw a bibliographical genealogy of the 15M movements.

She has published the collection of stories El Sur: instrucciones de uso (Ecobuk, 2009), and the children’s books La siesta (2000) and Al final (2014), with illustrations by Miguel Brieva, both published by Kokinos. She has also published stories in Revista Eñe, Sibila and Quimera.

Quién quiere ser madre (Alfaguara, 2017) is her first novel.
